#24 MP3

Ah...sweet success...suceessfully downloaded a book to my MP3. A sidebar comment: it took me longer to open the MP3 package and to charge it than it did to download my book!

#23 End of the Journey

The end of the journey has finally been reached - WHEW! At times the journey was long and the road was very bumpy - RSS feeds & exploring Technorati - but other times it was like a day at the beach - Sandbox, Flickr and making new "Face" friends...especially sharing our dog "tails". Looking back at my easiest-hardest 71/2 habits - play & be curious is the easiest - it certainly reflects on the exercises I enjoyed.

To improve the format...it would've been helpful to know, before getting to #23, that we could've done the Discovery Resource OR the Discovery Exercise - I did both...do I qualify for 46 things?! Otherwise everything else was fine. Thanks to all who set this up!

I've patted myself on the back now I'm going home to take my dog for a looooong FUN walk...if I can get Piggy away from her!

#9 Finding Feeds

Actually I felt like I was repeating #8...but I did find a few more useful library sites: http://www.librarian.net/ and LibTalk Blog.

The best for searching is Bloglines - gives many options to search and very user friendly. Also Google searched RSS feeds and was very successful - would put in topic followed by rss feed (e.g. library public relations rss feed).

Didn't like at all - Topix.net, Technorati Syndic8 limited search options until you do the initial search & then you get option of Advanced Search – brought up to many erroneous topics not related to my search – didn't find one useful thing I was looking for (library public relations).

#8 RSS Feeder

OK...after months of pushing this one aside, it's finally completed. Read tutorial, set up my account and "drawing outside the lines" – subscribed to the following bloglines: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ACE, CCLS New Directions, Celebrity gossip, FOXNews.com, librarian.net, Library Journal News, Library Stuff, The Puppy Blog!, Rolling Stone:The Rolling Stones, Simply Recipes, Unshelved , USATODAY.com Books, USATODAY.com Nation. I like this because you can obtain up-to-date information on just about any topic with the click of the mouse – a definite advantage in your personal & professional life. This would be a great venue to feed information about new programs, events & services to our customers.

#22 Audiobooks

Completed by accessing http://overdrive.ccls.org/ and downloaded John Grisham's, Skipping Christmas. Took a little while to download all the software because the Windows Media Security Player needed to be upgraded. Once this was completed...I had to search around to find where I downloaded the book...found it & enjoyed!
